investigating the integration of translation technologies into translation programs in iranian universities: basis for a syllabus design in translation technology

today, information technology and computers are indispensable tools of any profession and translation technologies have become an indispensable part of translator’s workstation. with the increasing demands for high productivity and speed as well as consistency and with the rise of new demands for translation and localization, it is necessary for translators to be familiar with market demands an...

Nonexistence of Solutions In

Consider the KPP-type equation of the form ∆u+f (u) = 0, where f : [0, 1] → R + is a concave function. We prove for arbitrary dimensions that there is no solution bounded in (0, 1). The significance of this result from the point of view of probability theory is also discussed.

Nonexistence of Resonances in H22

The controversy of the existence of resonances in H22 ions is revisited. We calculate the hyperspherical adiabatic potential curves for H22. For 4S0 symmetry all the potential curves are repulsive, and thus no bound or resonance states exist. This conclusion contradicts the recent calculations of Sommerfeld et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 77, 470 (1996); Phys. Rev. A 55, 1903 (1997)], where a 4S0 reso...

Probabilistic Regression Using Basis Function Models ; CU-CS-975-04

Our goal is to accurately estimate the error in any prediction of a regression model. We propose a probabilistic regression framework for basis function regression models, which includes widely used kernel methods such as support vector machines and nonlinear ridge regression. The framework outputs a point specific estimate of the probability that the true regression surface lies between two us...

Nonexistence of Stable Threesome Matchings

Gale and Shapley (1962) proved stability is the rule for ‘marriage’, i.e., matchings of twosomes. This rule says given any society with two kinds of agents to be matched in pairs, each agent having a preference ordering on agents of the opposite kind, there exists at least one stable matching. In this note we show by example that stable matchings may fail to exist in societies with three kinds ...
